The "Atelierhaus" at Lehárgasse

Author: Editorial team

The "Atelierhaus" - or studio building of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is also known as the Semperdeport. Gottfried Semper and Carl Hasenauer were the architects who designed the building at the end of the 19th century. At that time, it served as a depot and production site for theater sets for the "royal imperial court theaters".

Today, it houses studios and workshops for students of the Institutes of Fine Arts and Art and Architecture, as well as offices, lecture rooms and exhibition spaces for the Academy.
