Location Augasse

The Institute of Conservation and Restoration and the Institute of Science and Technology in the Arts are located in Augasse.

The building complex was built between 1978 and 1995 above the tracks of the Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof station as the University Center Althanstraße. The main building was home to the Vienna University of Economics and Business until 2013, which is why it is now known as the "Old WU". During the almost four-year general renovation of the Schillerplatz site, some of the academy's institutes were temporarily housed here. 

Today, the building is used by various initiatives alongside the Academy. The complex is very large and it is not easy to find your way around inside. The building can be entered from different sides and on different levels. Either via the large staircase at the main entrance (Lichtenwerder Platz stop) or at street level via the garage. There are also various entrances from all sides, each of which has stairs to negotiate.
