School Project "Wilde Kartierung"

Author: Antje Lehn (UGC)

As part of a course in the Department of Art and Cultural Education at the Institute for Art Teaching, we worked together with the school community Pfeilgasse in Vienna.

The students from the Art Teaching Department developed teaching projects on the topic of "Animals in the city". These were implemented with a bilingual multi-grade class. The pupils* in this class communicate multilingually, in sign language and German. With the support of the students, they developed scenarios in which animals appear in the school environment. Various artistic techniques such as drawing, collage, performance and mapping were tried out. The projects Bewegtes Mobile, Die neue Stadt, Quetschtierchen, Wiener Wild were spread playfully throughout the school building at the final presentation.

Participating students: Natascha Briza, Teresa Gatterer, Val Holfeld, Julia Hovorka, Bianka Opriessnig, Eilas Schmidt, Syart Veliu, Anja Wiesinger. Supervised by Antje Lehn and Anna Pritz, in cooperation with Gülsün Toluay, André Wasserfaller and the sign language interpreters Lena Schramek and Eva Wachter.

The film clip shows the joint final presentation.
