Open Days 2026 "Akademie-Rundgang"

From Thursday, January 22 to Sunday, January 25, 2026, the annual Open Days event "Akademie-Rundgang" takes place at all locations of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Institutes and departments open their studio doors and studios, performances, discussions and educational programs are offered. Some departments also offer student counseling during these days.

Admission Examination for Study Programs at the Academy for the Study Year 2026/27

The application deadlines for the admission examinations for the academic year 2026/27 are fixed! Online registration for the study year 2026/27 will begin again in mid-January 2026, step by step for all study programs. You can find the first dates here:

Admission examinaton for Conservation and Restoration

Online registration for the 2026/27 academic year in the diploma program in conservation and restoration will begin on January 19, 2026, and end on March 1, 2026.

Admission examination for the diploma program in Fine Arts

Online registration for the 2026/27 academic year in the diploma program in Fine Arts will begin on January 21, 2026, and end on February 11, 2026.

Online study information for the Diploma Program in Fine Arts:

There will be two online information sessions with information and counseling on the study program, application, and admission exam. No portfolio feedback! Q&A in English and German.

Admission examination for the diploma program in Scenography

Online registration for the 2026/27 academic year in the diploma program in stage design begins on January 26, 2026, and ends on February 22, 2026.

Portfolio Reviews

Portfolio reviews are offered by the Institute of Art and Architecture and the Institute for Art Education in good time before the entrance examinations.

The Institute of Fine Arts does not offer portfolio consultations.

BeSt education fair in Vienna

The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna will be represented with a stand at the BeSt education fair at Messe Wien (underground U2 Messe-Prater) from Thursday, March 12 to Sunday, March 15, 2026. Students will provide information about applications and study opportunities at the Academy.

The fair is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and on Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. Admission is free!
